Narcissists, psychopaths and bullies are all experts in selecting their targets. They have been practising all their lives. Looking for the easiest targets with the minimum of backlash.
Researchers find that they are usually carrying the following attributes: intelligent, honest, trustworthy, integrity, successful, idealistic, composed, sensitive, slow to anger, selfless, diligent, industrious, tolerant, responsible, honourable, a high threshold to stress, avoidance of violence, forgiving, always thinking well of others, incorruptible, strong set of values, quick to apologise when accused even if not guilty, a perfectionist, a willing helper, master of many skills, a tendency to internalise anger at rather than express it.
Narcissists and bullies are so resentful of a person with these qualities that jealousy takes over. In their upbringing they may have been devoid of opportunities to be this good person, maybe because they were a victim themselves and now the chance for revenge is their only agenda.
